Firearm production could be disrupted due to supply chain shortages

Unfortunately, it's the current situation that the U.S. has put itself into, relying on China (and others), to supply a lot of our needs at lower labor costs. (hopefully we'll rethink this strategy).
Needing masks myself (as PA. issued all should use cloth masks when traveling outside, and I had none), I order 10 washable/reusable masks from Amazon. Where are they coming from? You guessed it, China, probably with the virus preinstalled. 🦠😷🤮

That’s going to require a major shift in the way the American consumer thinks—in short, the drive to get the cheapest product.

The reason production/supply of these products moved out of the country is because it's a lot cheaper...Dot, period, end of story.

And Americans aren’t going to work for what foreign labor makes.

Therefore, if you want to bring it home...the consumer is going to have to be willing to pay a LOT more.

And that’s just not gonna happen.
True Hans, but they/we (the American consumer), may be willing to pay more for those items we consider to be critical when events like these unfold (pharma being one, etc). Unfortunately as time rolls on, we'll (American businesses), probably revert to seeking out the cheapest labor costs once more.

Agree. I wouldn't mind paying more for something that was born right here in the USA. The Chinese have a stranglehold on us and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

"I heard on the news that UPS is making multiple fights into the US from China bringing in medical PPE. You’d think that would be the last place we would want anything from. Please, please, please don’t get me wrong we need to protect our heroes!!! But China? REALLY?????"

Not sure how the above paragraph that I didn't write got attached to my post. 🤔

Right. I wonder what the "rules" are for them. The Patriots plane flies over there on a humanitarian flight, everyone has to stay in the plane and it can only be on the ground for 3 hours. Staying in the plane, I can understand, but 3 hours max? Somehow, I don't think we would order as strict of rules for them if they flew over. Probably would have been flown over to them. It's aggravating (to me) that we dig holes like this for ourselves.
