A buddy had a 1916-made 1911 that he offered to me for $6k. Probably worth $12k, but even though I can afford it, I just couldn't spend that much. I have some solace knowing that I DIDN't have to then let my wife waste that much money. There are definitely handguns I would pay over a grand for. No strikers, but definitely revolvers and 1911s and other steel hammer fired semi autos.
62 your still a kitten, I’m not saying I was planning on working for ever but expected to retire at around 67 however my body had other plans. I turn 65 in January and I’m enjoying
semi-retirement and working part time.
That being said I’ve made the decision that I’m done buying guns but want to pick up a holster for my Emissary and still looking for a holster for my Taurus Revolver as a cross draw back up gun.
I have actually looked at them and spoke to someone at the company, they are high on my short list.Look at Stoner holsters. They have a dual position cross draw/strong side OWB model that I find very useful. I have three of them now for three different handguns and every one is well made and functions perfectly. I like the versatility of the two options.

In hand guns, I to like two of each caliber that I own.Honestly, at my age I find myself more interested in downsizing, than buying. In order to buy something I already have, perhaps not a surfeit of, but certainly more than enough of, I find myself needing to find an actual need or justification to myself.
An example being a Springfield EMP, of which I am covetous. I find it hard to justify the purchase of a new 9mm pistol when I have a perfectly fine example in the P365xl. There is a loophole I am considering however. In the past I have always considered two weapons for every caliber I own a must have. Hmmmm...
