First Look: 1911 DS Prodigy Compact 9mm Pistols

Like to have one, but my state (Washington) put the screws to these firearms. I have Colt 1911's which are all .45 ACP and eight round magazines are the largest. I have no way to get one of these new pistols into the state with 15 or 17 round magazines. Fortunately, I had a Browning HP when the restrictive laws were enacted and it was "grandfathered" in. I have 13, 15, and 17 round magazines for it that are legal. I did buy three ten rounders for it, but probably will never use them...I hope. The 17's are not reliable. I'd like to add one of these new pistols, but I would be limited to ten rounds. I see a real problem purchasing a pistol made available after the law was passed and coming up with magazines exceeding ten rounds in my state.

Got mine today. 4.25 inch. Stripped and cleaned, haven’t fired yet. Will have to adjust grip just a bit. The ambi safety pinches if I use my normal grip. Not a big deal to make a small adjustment. Will take to range this weekend and report back how she goes!
