First Look: Springfield 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm

One or 2 places selling at $280/case delivered. You get what you pay for though. The case of Zinc Point 9mm I am 1/3 though requires 2 primer strikes 1/30 rounds, however. The case arrived with loose-packed boxes of 100 rounds each. Not a fan of loose-packed...Might not buy it again...Caused the first "malfunctions" in both my Canik and my Sig, until I put 2 and 2 together and remembered the ammo.
I’ll pay more for regular ammo.

I’m curious what the manual says about a break in period? I bought a Kimber Ultra Raptor II (3 inch barrel) and had numerous instances of it not going back into battery when it was new. Called Kimber and they referenced the break in period and advised me to trust the process. After 300-400 rounds the pistol ran flawless and has for about 2500 additional rounds now. I do have a DW Specialist that ran 100% from the first shot and ever since.

And, on the flipside, I have a Springfield TRP that ran like a top from the get-go with no break-in, and a Dan Wesson TRP that needed about 500 rounds before it stopped being ammo picky. Now it runs fine. My other Dan Wesson (CCO) also ran perfectly from the first round. I've concluded that there is nothing set in stone when it comes to break-in periods, some tight tolerance guns like 1911/2011s need them, and some don't, and it's not really brand-specific.

I'm seeing PMC 115gr FMJ for $11/box also. That is if you buy 6 boxes. Dunno what shipping adds.

So that $106 for 300, which is - wait for it - $17.60 a box.

Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore always sells Blazer Brass for $15/box and often has shipping specials. Spend X amount, get free shipping, etc.. I am probably good for about 6-8 boxes a month from my local Farm and Home though who almost always has it at $15 or $16/box. Waiting on packages should be avoided when possible. I had a delivery today from Midway. 8 Boxes of S&B 230 gr. However when I got home there was a sticker on my front door that said the package was damaged so the UPS guy returned it to sender. I only ordered it the night before last though so I suspect I will get a new package Saturday. Midway is pretty close to me. That was a free shipping deal.

They have Free Shipping on all cases of Ammo right now - not sure how long it will last.

$299 for Belom 1,000rds
$284 for Turan 1,000rds

Never used either and unsure how good they are.

I have never dealt with them, but somehow I'm suddenly getting emails from them every day. Like I said, they popped up on a spam/scam list. I did notice their ammo is all Belom and other crap I never heard of and don't want to buy.
