I had a brand new late model SA-35 and had nothing but trouble even after being sent back to SA for a fix.
Traded it.

I dissembled my SA-35 today and took the extractor out and inspected it thoroughly, it seems like it was made well. I mad sure there weren’t any weak points and burs. I’m still going to keep an eye on it though.I have a SA-35 with a 25000 serial number and the extractor broke right off the bat. I returned it to Springfield and they promptly fixed and returned it. It is now one of my favorites. It conceal carries reasonable well and shoots great.
If you don’t mind me asking what serial number range is your new one?Greetings from Pennsylvania. My first Sa-35 went back to Springfield 3 times for the same issue. Finally was given a brand new one from Springfield. The new one is great about 3 thousand trouble free rounds through. Only thing I changed was the factory grips. I also have a few extra recoils springs for it as well. Hopefully yours will work out for you.
My 39 year old fingers will agree that the recoil assembly is a pain in the @##Love mine -- except the recoil spring being a little tough to install after cleaning. But then again, it might be 75-year-old fingers![]()
