How can they say the Ruger changed the World when they just brought it out. I own a couple Ruger pistol not any on here.

Sorry I meant the Ruger 57. Not all Rugers.

I'll write that only 2 handguns changed the history of the world: the Colt Peacemaker and the 1911-A1. The rest are variations of precedents.

Of course, one could craft a cogent argument for the S&W Schofield.

It’s not too hard to agree with this. Although I’d say some more recent modern innovations like AR pistols might qualify.

Blackhawk and redhawk deserve to be in rhere. Redhawk over the Super redhawk if it came to that. Have had all three and those two were/are more influential and original. In my humble opinion

Many years ago, I took a slightly used 'Super Blackawk' as payment for installing a rack/pinion steering and fabricating/welding 289 small block Ford motor mounts in a '40 Ford coupe. Thought I had really made out.

Took it to the range and decided after one cylinder full that I had absolutely no need, nor desire for it anymore. I sold it for what I could get and lost out bad on the work I had done.

Oh well, we live and learn.

Why was that Jumpinjoe? Were you shooting 44 mag or 44 Special? I could see someone not like 44 mag and it's recoil, but on a lot of occasion I'll shoot 44 Special in mine, which is pretty mild compared to the magnum load. I own three: Ruger Redhawk, Colt Anaconda, and S&W 629 Stealth Hunter.
Sorry you lost out on your automobile work.

Yeh BET7, it was 44 mag. A really long bbl as I recall, maybe 8" or 10". it just wasn't fun to shoot. I never missed it! LOL!
