My last 2 purchases were Fenix. I’m very pleased. I also have Streamlight with which I’m pleased with. Have read good things on the Olights, but no first hand experience.

Surefire makes some nice options . Pic your poison and budget

I'd get a surefire but not wanting to spend a large amount on it since I'll be spending on my optic I thought about a streamlight hl1 I believe

The same to me with Fenix. I could find this article ( url: https://www.lumenbulb.net/best-1000-lumen-flashlight/ ), and model Fenix FX-PD35TAC of flashlight there, simply tested it in the nearest store, and after some comparison with Duracell, I've understood that's Fenix is the best choice for simple home and hunting needs as well.
