I did not want to interrupt an ongoing discussion in another thread, and I don't think that every time I go to the range should be documented in a range report, so I figured I had better put this in a thread of its own and let it live or die.
I took today off so I would be rested at the range, for a change. I took my Masada S, the VP9, the PDP Compact, and the husband's FNX.
So all I really wanted to do was to blow off some 115gr we had left in the safe. It was quite uneventful, believe me. I know now that I do far better with 124gr, but hey...I knew that already. Anyway, the husband wants me to break in his FNX (is it even a thing?) so I took it along and ran a few mags through it.
Well, I am FAR more accurate with that gun than with many others I own. That's not why I'm posting here though. You may remember recently I posted about .45ACP casings landing on my chest. Well, this gun ejects them into my face. Today I was hit in the face with hot brass several times. Now...is this normal? Is it just an "occupational hazard" with some 45s? I mean, if I was defending my life, a little hot brass in the face (or on the chest) is nothing. I'm just curious...I'm always curious

.
Oh, btw...the only target from today worthy of posting is from the assaultive little FNX beast.
