former cop stabbed

Since USP Tucson is the drop out yard I’m surprised he was at the FCI. As he now has a separated there he will probably be moved to the USP there or USP Colman 2 or USP Terre Haute if I was a betting person.

That stuff happened daily at USP’s but the high profile ones make the press.

Drew Peterson the Illinois cop who murdered his spouse (BOP had him because he threatens a state Judge from their facility) he got smacked around pretty good by a couple thugs at a USP. More over his attitude than his crime like I’d presume Chauvin’s attack probably was about.

No doubt someone trying to even a score. I am conflicted over his conviction for murder, but he is a skunk of the first order who should never have worn the uniform. Failure to main high employment and screening standards for LEO's produces disastrous results.
This may be true. The only actual information I ( or anyone) has is that which was provided to us by a media bent on pushing a narrative. I heard the other day the department he worked for lied when asked if they trained their officers to restrain suspects by leaning on their necks. So it is likely he was trained to do that. I also heard that the coroners report pretty much exonerates him from causing Floyd's death. After the OJ Simpson farce I find it very easy to believe that regardless of what evidence there was or wasn't, he was going to be convicted because this country is routinely held hostage by the media and activists.

In any case, by the left's own screed, he doesn't deserve to die for his sins. And putting ANY LEO in gen pop is F'ing disgraceful and whoever did that should be charged with attempted murder.

Yeah I followed the trial closely and didn't see or hear anything to convince me of a murder charge, but it was apparent he was an Adam Henry on the job. The jury must have hated him for what he was. I agree, putting a former cop in the general population is tantamount to a death sentence in many facilities.

Having watched the trial…none of that is factual. There was no training to kneel on suspect’s necks until they died(that’s the issue, here—not that he put a knee to the neck, but that he didn’t stop until Floyd was dead). The coroners report was admitted and did not exonerate him.

He got what he had coming.

The thing missing from the trial was all the Chief’s, Assistant Chief’s, Captains and Supervisors over him should have been sitting next to him for their sentencing for allowing an a$&hat to keep doing stupid things.

The only ones I feel a little sympathy for were the 2 Rookies thrown into that in what their first week?

Isn't cardiopulmonary arrest a heart attack ?

At any rate I find it incredibly difficult to believe this cop intended to kill the man. And I'm not sure how the civil rights violation gets thrown in there except that Floyd was black. Which is the opposite of a color blind justice system. So the main and most likely proper charge is 2nd degree murder aka Manslaughter. He was sentenced to more time for the civil rights thing than the "Murder", which I find ridiculous.

Also I will point out that last year I was on a jury in a criminal trial of a guy who had over .2 BAC and smashed into a car, killing a young couple and their baby, who burned to death. Another juror and myself were the only two not swayed by the slick BS from the defense attorney and wanted convictions for DUI. What we landed on was 3 counts of negligent manslaughter, for which this piece of crap was sentenced to 8 years in prison and which I seriously doubt he does any more than 4.

I also personally know two different guys that straight up murdered people and did less than 12 years.

Now, all that aside, I sure as hell ain't going to sit here trying to defend his culpability when I frankly have no idea what exactly that is. It just seems to me the sentence was excessive and that putting a cop in general population is ridiculous.

Asphyxiation due to trauma (Chauvin’s knee) was a major contributing factor (when you don’t get oxygen long enough, you tend to go into cardiac arrest…).

As for the civil rights stuff, and why he’s in a federal prison—Chauvin plead guilty to that, of his own free will. It might have been a tactic to get out of serving his sentence in MN, but…he plead guilty.

Additionally—last week, the US Supreme Court shot down his appeal that he didn’t get a fair trial, so…there’s really no argument there anymore.

He still should never have been put in general population.

Probably not…unless he got sick of solitary and requested it.

And…I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that he got stabbed for something he did on the inside, and not for the Floyd murder…the guy’s a donkey hole, and that doesn’t necessarily go away once he’s locked up.

Exactly. Their employment standards, or lack thereof, set the stage for what happened

I think it's extremely likely that he got stabbed because he was a cop. Cops in prison tend to have trouble.

I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a contributing factor, but…I wouldn’t assume it was the sole reason, either.

No matter, though—Chauvin’s likely going to spend the next 15 years or so in solitary…and that’s been shown to be…difficult, from a mental health standpoint.

I still don’t feel sorry for him.

help me understand something..

1) i know "general population"

2) i am familiar with "solitary confinement"..

3) i also "heard of" ..."protective custody"..

so my question, are all 3 different forms of prison time, or are numbers 2 and 3 the same..?????

cuz i thouhgt that some prisoners say like pedifiles and cops go into.."protective custody"..?????

So did General Flynn after the Gov. told him they would go after his son and family. "free will" is a B.S. argument, unless you were directly involved and have 1st hand facts the rest of us don't.

Not defending this clown. I've put a whole pile of people in restraints more than a few resisting and I was alone. NONE took me 9 Minutes and X# of seconds. However, there is no way in hell he got an impartial trial.

Protective custody ( "Check in" in prison slang) is essentially solitary confinement, although I imagine in some cases there may be multiple inmates who are in protective custody together.

The US Supreme Court says otherwise on the fair trial—they refused to hear his appeal on those grounds last week, letting the lower court’s ruling that he did get a fair trial stand.

Again—he chose to plead guilty. We say this about lots of other people with no sympathy, why do we suddenly discover it for this murderer?
