have you guys read what i had said or asked..??

I SAID.....I HAVE A GLOCK 17, I GOT IT BACK IN 2020, AND IT CAME WITH 3, 17 round magazines.

I WAS ASKING IF ANY OF YOU HEARD, A LGS, SELLING A NEW GLOCK, THAT NORMALLY COMES WITH LARGE CAPACITY MAGS, TELLING YOU THAT HE WAS TOLD, THAT GLOCK RAN OUT OF MAGS AT THE FACTORY, AND THAT GLOCK IS SUBSTITUTING THE SMALLER CAPACITY MAGS IN THIER PLACE....

DO YA'S HEAR ME NOW..>????

it was so simple a set up and question(s), even a caveman could have answered it.....
Thread drift is inevitable.

Embrace it.

buddy, i have embraced many things in life....

drifting IS one of them...like maybe "did you see the green house on the corner, where old man's red barn used to be"?

but not when i ask a simple question of, (paraphrasing it now), "have you ever seen a gun dealer sell a product you know for a fact that does not normally ship that way from the factory?"...

oh well, i'm in the frick'n christmas spirit........

like my schnops, for the moment.

No I have not heard that at all, if you buy a gun and it’s CA compliant it will state it, my opinion if a dealer tells you that a manufacturer ran out of standard capacity mags, I’m guessing that dealer may be keeping the high capacity mags and switching them out on his own, maybe to sell them at a higher cost if a high capacity mag ban happens 🤔🤔🤔

thanks for the straight up answer/opinion, as @HansGruber did as well in the beginning.

this particular (small) LGS has a very good customer base, been in business for decades, and are straight up people.

so in this particular instance, i don't feel or "see" where they switched them out, they are too a stocking Glock dealer, (lower inventory) but do not sell "Blue Label".....

It was just a thought, I got off the phone with my dealer after I posted my reply and he told me he hasn’t heard of this, all well crap happens

This isn’t gonna contribute much I realize, but it seems to me someone on this Forum once posted about sights on a SA Saint Victor having been possibly changed out by the dealer.
If I recall correctly, the consensus of opinion, after discussion of what it was supposed to have, ended up being “well, you saw it when you bought it…”

Not much help - but made me want to have my phone handy and manufacturer’s website pulled up when I’m at a store- so as to compare the actual item with pics and features advertised.

If anything wasn’t offered up as advertised I’d want to know exactly what… and what’s the impact on the sticker $$.

The dealer may have been only able to get the Glock 17s from their supplier with 10 round option or maybe the dealer may have got a special deal for the 10 round option from the supplier.

The dealer is in the business to make money and if they are able to get special pricing to move a certain product they may have chosen that option not in the sense to screw the customer as you know exactly what your buying at the time of purchase.

that (small) LGS, was selling those G-17, gen 4's for $649.99 each.

i paid (at the range) $499.99 + taxes, for just under $550.00 back in 2020, came with backstraps, 3-17 rnd mags

of course, i am sure that the pandemic is the reason for the spike in retail.

My LGS has a G17 gen 5 in stock for $539.00 with 3 17 round mags.

Some dealers have are still using supply shortages as an excuse to jack up prices.

These guys went up very minimal in pricing during the entire 2020.

Hmm… well, prices will be what each LGS asks.

But…
Hans G mentioned SKU numbers.
Those things can be handy. If the sku of what you are looking at matches the sku on the website, it ought to come with what the manufacturer said was included.
Ex: I was looking at S&Ws M&P pistols some months ago via SW website. Noticed they had those things decked out in all various ways: Thumb Safety or No Thumb Safety, threaded barrel, FDE or black, ported or not, etc etc etc - all kind of ‘packages’. And they sometimes offer those range pack deals: extra mag(s), some kinda cleaning kit, holster… whatever. (take a look - you can configure your desired MP within what’s offered - but every one will have it’s own sku#).

Point is, even if the LGS dropped the price some, they have monkeyed with the item if anything’s not there that’s supposed to match that model/sku… and that makes me uneasy about the dealer, especially if they don’t say so or indicate it on the sticker. And if say 5-6 people work in the store, do all of them know what’s what??
( it’s another reason I don’t buy displays. I prefer mine unopened if at all possible ).
