Point taken on the draw aspect but I've never had a range tell me how fast I can pull the trigger.
Maybe I've been fortunate.
That being said you may have missed my overall point, or for the record I may not have been clear.
When I go to the range my mindset is getting the rounds down range as efficiently and quickly as reasonably possible without worrying about some grouping that will impress my friends.
Of course, its different if I'm trying to zero a weapon.
But other than that I concentrate on center mass, head shots and combinations of the two. Usually in 3, 4 or 5 round burst regardless of magazine capacity.
no, i did not miss what you said, and for you to not have been told not to rapid fire, or draw from a holster maybe you are fortunate, or the range(s) you go to are not that up on safety..??
i think we ALL try to get our shots down range, like you
however, have you not seen bullet holes in the side walls, or the ceilings..??
those are from errant shots by most likely newbies, or egomaniac guys showing off to thier buddies or girlfriends...
in other words, careless, ignorant shooters
head shots are ok, but the head can move faster than center mass
my study of shooting is always for center mass, where most likely, i will hit that target all the times, especially (i would hope) under duress conditions..??
the few times i was able to enter a range with no RSO, was the public range, and start shooting
why..??
1) they know me very well
2) i have proven my skills
3) but i still adhere to no rapid shooting or holster drawing
my private gun club..??
i am usually there at like 6-6:30 am, no RSO's ever (we are our own RSO), and i still adhere to THIER rules of no rapid firing, and NO holster drawings..
cameras at both locations record everything, so no need for me to get hung out to dry if i screw up.
so you maybe you are fortunate where you go..its just not like that every where
