Yeah. That’s the reason the trucks are having structural failures.
Good grief.
Or it’s about a mistake in the design that hadn’t been caught in development. It's about dollar signs and keeping the UAW happy, nevermind the people buying the product, or their safety.
Just be glad they finally added turbos! The life blood and heart of diesels! When the big 3 started putting diesels in their p/us I knew fuel was going to get high! The stupid thing what price is for red (off road/farm/equipment diesel). It sucks for farmers buying thatmy 2000 Cummins has nearly 300,000 on it, when i had normal tires on it, it got nearly 20 MPG on the freeway. just sold a Ford f250 4x4 5 speed stick with a 460. it got 8 MPG going down a steep hill with a strong wind at it back.
When i bought the 2000, diesel was a lot cheaper than gas and got better mileage than gas trucks, well the EPA has killed diesels on fuel mileage and it's more expensive than gas now. all of them are way overpriced.
The mister paid in the range of 60k for his Duramax(80k list price). He gets on average about 20MPG depending on the wind (better with no gusts). He’s gonna drone it till it drops. It’s a 2021 Sierra Duramax. Ordered it during the pandemic. It’s an awesome road trip vehicle.I'd like to drive a new one and see how much more power they have, my 2015 has twice the power of the 2000. i don't ever plan on buying another one though. will die with what i have now. no way i'm payin 70 to 100 grand for a truck.
eh, the 7.3 International "Power Stroke" in my 96 F-350 was certainly not junk.ALL diesel engines in pickups are junk (yes, that includes my '15 3500)! No engine trouble @ 75k, but still junk! I'd give anything for a good ole big block! My '81 454 turbo400 w/3.73 got better milage than this p/u.
