"Gone Fishing"

Got the family out of the house for a bit yesterday. Went a couple miles down the road and bank fished at the same location the grandson and I launched our kayaks last time. Air temp was around 61º, with a bit of a chill in a steady breeze, but the sun was out so that helped. My wife and youngest grandson skunked, and the older grandson (13) caught about 4 Bluegill. I only had one bite, and that was towards the end after switching to my go-to bait, which is a black Zoom Trick Worm, Texas-rigged on a 3/0 EWG hook, and an 1/8oz bullet weight. Standing at the end of the boat ramp at water's edge, I tossed up under some trees close to the bank, with water probably only 2' deep. Success! :)

Very nice fish!

If I'm going too catch a fish I'll bring my shotgun filled with birdshot! I could drain the lake and still not catch anything!
I feel the same way TRL :sneaky:. Fishing 🎣🐟 to me is like playing Golf 🏌️‍♂️⛳, I just don't have the patience for either. The only difference between the two is that with Golf, I may have to walk further to the water to throw all my "gear" into it.:LOL::ROFLMAO:

Nice catch...now I want to go fishing....

Thanks, it was an enjoyable couple of hours.

Golf? I tried golf a few times many yrs ago. My first FIL loved to play golf and tried to get me interested in it. It got to the point where he got tired of me losing the good balls, and I was relegated to using the beat-up practice ones. I never did get the hang of it, and actually should have had a weed-eater along with us just so that I could find the balls I sliced into the weeds and treeline. 🙄

Most everyone does catch and release here for Bass. Meat fish tend to be Crappie and Catfish. I'm on the Gulf and Redfish, flounder and speckled sea trout are favorites here. This is a five pounder I caught a couple of weeks ago.
