I'm old, but maybe I can learn a new trick. I'll put it on my Max 9. Haven't been to the range lately, put in 5,000 lb. patio extension. Next is 16 tons of gravel.
Vortex included multiple screws, battery, plate and a battery/torx tool. Because Ruger used red locktite on the slide cover, I snapped the included torx tip on one of the screws. Luckily I had one in the garage with a screwdriver handle. I heated up the stubborn screw with a soldering iron and it came right out.
Looks like my sights co-witness the dot.
Cool. I have one sitting in the safe waiting to go on my Hellcat pro. Just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I realized I don’t have a holster it will fit in after I mount the dot. I was very impressed with the screw assortment offered with the sight.
I do wish it was a little narrower though, but it looks like it is as narrow as they can get it with a top load battery. To me the top load battery is a big plus so I can live with the width. I’m looking forward to getting it mounted and zeroed. Let us know how it shoots.
If your experience parallels mine, you will get a little frustrated in picking up the dot on the draw. With sufficient practice that issue will go away and you will gain the benefit of how easy it to shoot with both eyes open. If you wear bi or trifocals, you will have to retrain yourself to use the distance lens in place of the near lens as you will now be looking at the target instead of the front site. Once mastered, you will be amazed how your long distance accuracy is improved and how you no longer need to have your eyes perfectly lined up with the sights. Just put the dot on target and shoot. Perfect for aging eyes.
