Got My First Shotgun

Here's my first shotgun I just purchased, The Mossberg 590 Retrograde 18.5" Barrel. I love the look of it and I researched different shotguns for the price and Mossberg was always recommended. It may seem old but it pairs with my Springfield 1911 pretty well, got the WWI vibes to it.

On a funny note, I showed my wife this setup Mossberg with the 1911....she threw a bottle of mustard at me! Must be her German heritage taking over.

Yes mustard...should I be concerned? That's why I choose Mossberg all the reviews and owners have said that Mossberg shotguns are great quality and last for generations.

I like it. There was a time I would have praised the 870 Remington but they went to crap for a long while there. They may be on the upswing now but I would still recommend the mossy.

I am not familiar with what happened to Remington. Was it poor QC? Or other things?

That's a nice shotgun. My 30+ year old 500 is still running strong.

Put you an SGA stock on that thing. And an MOE forend.

That's pretty cool, though I do like the wood stock and corncob on it more, just my personal taste.

Congrats. Great shotgun. It’s a battle proven shotgun. We used them in Iraq to breech doors, obstacles, bad guys, etc
