Full size 1841 mountain howitzer replica, functioning but could use some tlc to really shine! I got some old pictures and newspapers back when the owners were big into re-enactments.

Got several pounds of black powder, some molds, smelter, lead cannon balls, billiard balls, all the stuff to make it functional. Uses 22 blanks to set it off

Plan to strip the gold paint and make it black. Gold paint always looks like paint. Remove all the metal, blast it and re-paint black with rust reforming paint. Strip the wood, fix some cracks and repaint, but not sure of the color. Wheels are good to go and are brand new just installed last week.

Excellent. If you check you’ll find that back when the woodwork on a lot of pieces was a dark green-with the black metal it looks good. Check out pieces at some on the national military parks and you’ll see what I mean. I’m gonna have to get me one of these. I’ve came close but was always too tight to cough up sufficient wampum. Methinks they used gold paint attempting to make it look like a brass tube..
