Well the whole article is predicated on the proliferation of home made auto sears in Chicago being to blame for Chicago murders, which is a joke. They will find anything to blame other than the guy who pulled the trigger.
They're currently doing the same thing with the nutbag that shot up my parent's old high school in south St. Louis last week. This kid had been visited by the police for psycho crap at least 7 times, the cops somehow determined they couldn't relieve him of his guns, even though he was denied on a NICS trying to buy a gun in St. Charles. The school initially reported no information about the kid and they are still not talking, but there is no doubt he was well known and his problems were well known. So now Tony Messenger from the St. Louis Post Disgrace is blaming all republicans for the the murders because of the lax gun laws in the state. And the TV keeps asking about where he got the gun, which was apparently a "Private" Transaction of some sort, so of course this means we need universal background checks The gun was an AR with no handguard on it. It was obviously beat to **** and he obviously didn't understand how it operated. Guaranteed this "Private" transaction was done out of the trunk of some thug's stolen Kia.
So even though this kid had well documented mental problems, the cops were called to his house 7 times over his BS and he was all over social media talking about how much he hated the school, the people, the teachers, etc.. It wasn't a mental health failure, nor a failure of the STLPD to remove his firearms in the wake of his mental breakdowns. It was actually every republican voter in the state for not demanding more gun control.
