Except for the ads we see almost all of the stuff in the hard copy Armory magazine here.I like the Armory magazine that comes every couple months. Though not necessarily for the articles.
True enough.Except for the ads we see almost all of the stuff in the hard copy Armory magazine here.
The reality is that gun writers and gun magazines or websites only make money by reviewing products. Which means their entire living depends on companies paying them to review their products. They wouldn't get very much business if they were giving bad reviews all the time. The only problem with gun writers is they always say a gun is great! How many articles have seen saying a firearm is a turd? If you are going to review something the truth has to be told.
which is why, i throw away mine, when it comes in the mail.Except for the ads we see almost all of the stuff in the hard copy Armory magazine here.
There is some interesting stuff in there, including the ads. It makes excellent bathroom reading. And when you're done you should take them and put them on tables in waiting rooms at doctor's offices or other places so that others can enjoy them. I take all my NRA and gun magazines to work and leave them on the tables in the break room. Some people aren't "All in" one way or another about guns and dedicated gun magazines are a great way to get information into these people's hands. Much better than letting them "Learn" about guns from MSNBC or the nightly news.which is why, i throw away mine, when it comes in the mail.
but hey, it is a free subscription, so i ain't wasting my money
A few magazines/orgs stick to honest reviews, and if there's issues that should provide an incentive for manufacturers to improve their products. The reality is that gun writers and gun magazines or websites only make money by reviewing products. Yea, I don’t throw mine away, I also do like Bob does and recycle them….free or not, if you want a gun magazine that gives you honest reviews, Gun Tests, they accept no advertising or guns from manufacturers, they buy there’s like we do, but lord help you if you have a problem with your subscription, there CS is about as bright as a 15 watt bulb…which is why, i throw away mine, when it comes in the mail.
but hey, it is a free subscription, so i ain't wasting my money
you might be right about thier CS..i tried cancelling my subscription for the USCCA magazine (concealed carry) and the Armory Life.Yea, I don’t throw mine away, I also do like Bob does and recycle them….free or not, if you want a gun magazine that gives you honest reviews, Gun Tests, they accept no advertising or guns from manufacturers, they buy there’s like we do, but lord help you if you have a problem with your subscription, there CS is about as bright as a 15 watt bulb…
Just like guitar magazine articles and golf magazine articles. There's only so many ways to tell the same story. For sure. It's like politicians. Most of the time there really isn't anything they NEED to do, so they dream up all these BS laws and debates to justify their existence. Back in the day before the internet I suppose gun writers were necessary to disseminate information through magazines and books. Now there really aren't many aspects of it that haven't been covered ad nauseum. At a minimum though you would think a guy who is supposed to be a professional shooter wouldn't write an article espousing things he clearly has little knowledge about. Carrying FMJ instead of defensive rounds ( i.e. hollow points) is dangerous for more than one reason. And adjustable sights on a carry gun ?
Sounds to me like this guy is a competitive shooter. He should stick to that topic.
If your gun is off 18" @ 7 yards you have way bigger issues than your sights.
