Gunbroker scam.

Just FYI, folks. Be aware I’m pretty certain this is a scam.
I have an item listed on gun broker. I had someone send me a message that they were trying to buy it but could not, that they were restricted. Shortly thereafter I start getting these emails that on the surface look like gun broker. In short these scam artists are claiming that you have a balance with gunbroker and are trying to get you to send Apple Card and prepaid gift cards to a link that they provide. Here is a screenshot of one of the emails I received just be aware of what you click on.

It looks like an old scam has been revived. The same thing happened to my GB account in 2020. It took me a few minutes to find the correspondence I had with the real GB on the matter to ascertain the year. Because GB is again being used for nefarious reasons, be careful with all transactions.

GB isn't my place to go for firearms! Bought thru them once and will never do it again. Too shadey for me.
I buy thousands of rounds of ammo and more than my fair share of firearms off of GB. I sell a thing or two as well. But I do buy waaayyyyy more than I sell. You do have to be careful as with anything online these days. But if you play it right and are patient, there are some unbeatable deals to be found on GB.

Well common sense tells you its a scam. Do you not have to set up an account with gunbroker with a card of some type to pay fees, etc in order to buy or sell on it? If so why would they turn around and ask for gift cards? It makes no sense whatsoever.
Yes. GB should be able to identify the individual based on the user id and credit card used to setup the account.

I have had pretty good experiences on there. I always check feedback before completing any transaction. Generally there are great deals to be found and a few rare birds that you won’t necessarily find at your LGS.
