Guns of Keanu Reeves

Now, I am by NO means an expert here. I have never fired a Glock (and I probably will rent one someday), but having just read their sentence saying HK makes some of the most dependable firearms in the world...how does one "upgrade" to a Glock? Now guys, I am NOT trying to stir the pot or anything...this is a question that popped into my mind while reading the article. Just curious is all. I'm sure it's a personal preference thang. ;)

not mention how down to earth this guy is.
I have seen him 2x in public, he looks like a normal person and actually smiles and interacts with people like they are the important part of the equation

how does one "upgrade to a Glock"...???

1) you start off by buying a Hi Point.....

many guns are dependable, i never had any issues with any Glock i currently own, or have owned.

i think it's all hyperbole, all the "best gun" BS....

i believe many "reviews" are paid for.

buy what you want, clean and lube it regularly, and it'll run for a long time.

and if not..??

revert back to #1....

Seriously though, I do like Glock pistols, but lots don’t like the grip angle, the G19 is ok but I prefer the G17, G34 due to its a full size grip, some like the grip better then the smaller G19, while I can’t say a Glock is an upgrade, the one there referring to us a Tarin Tactical, modified G34. I myself don’t care for HK pistols, had a few, it’s like with any gun, some like them some don’t, HK are very good guns, just for me I’ll pass on them like I pass on S&W M&P pistols, Glock was the first polymer pistol I tried and shot, and I liked it, but I’m not going to say one manufacturer is a upgrade to another, it’s a personal preference to what people like.

I just introduced my daughter to the John Wick movies. Still have to watch #4

I really want a Taran Tactical pistol. I am actually VERY interested in the new Canik

As far as Glock, incredibly overrated. Like, ridiculously. Literally the only good point is that they are reliable. That's it.
Well, and maybe the aftermarket. Which brings me to my next point, they are far from perfect. So far, in fact, that I think they should be sued for false advertising for their whole "Glock perfection" thing.

And, YES, I have a Glock. Actually, I have 2, and have had a third. My first duty weapon was a G21 and now it's a G45. I trust both with my life. I personally have a G17. It's a perfectly fine gun. I actually like it better than the 21 or 45.
But it's just a gun. A soulless hunk of plastic. It goes bang and is combat accurate. But so are Springfields, HK, FNs, S&W and Sig, among others.
 
I handled a Taran Tactical John Wick Glock a LGS had sometime ago. Wasn't impressed at all. But that's just my two cents worth. Are Glocks good ? Yes. I carry one everyday at work and "off-duty" and trust my life with them. Are they for everybody ? NO. I also have a couple of other pistols from different companies that I "love" as well. All I tell people is try out as many options as possible and make an informed decision and then practice and train and practice and train some more. Just my two cents....

i said it before, and i'll say it again...not much of a "grip angle" between a 1911 and a G-17 (or any other glock)

and if a 1911 has the curved MSH..??

nearly spot on identical.

so if one can shoot a 1911, then one can shoot a Glock..

i think it's that when Glock came to the states, people just did not like the fact, that it was a "plastic" gun.

i must admit, i am not certain of when Glock came here, over any other "plastic gun", and it's pricing back then.....maybe cuz it was "too cheap" people thought it would be a POS...????

We actually had one (Pit Viper) come in to the shop last week for an FFL. Dude was super cool and let me handle it.
It felt really nice, but if im being honest here - nothing about it felt $7,000 nice. Not even in the ballpark. What does $7,000 nice feel like? Not sure if that's quantifiable and if it is it's completely subjective. It's a few grand overpriced just because it has Taran's name on it if you ask me. $3-5k? Sure. $7k? Nah.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's not worth watching, but it left me disappointed. And I paid $20 to buy it. First time I ever bought a movie ( except for The Godfather Trilogy, which I began buying when VHS was a thing and wore I and II out several times and had to buy them again).

The fight scene on the steps was difficult to sit through. Very, VERY long and ridiculous. Lots of cool weapons, but compared to the other 3 it was a huge disappointment to me.

Sorry I should have clarified. I have seen 4, she just hasn't yet

But interesting you said that about that movie. I was also pretty disappointed in it. That step scene was definitely tough. It would have been cool if it was 75% shorter.

I think it's more of a difference that you think.

I will admit that I definitely prefer a 1911 over any other platform. They just shoot better and, well, are better.
It's not just the grip angle, though. It's also the trigger. Nothing can compare to a 1911 trigger, and for a striker fired, Glock is one of the worst. My bowl of oatmeal is less mushy. The whole plastic thing is definitely part of it, but to me that's lower on the list of gripes.
As you see in the pictures, the Glock is a few degrees different and that few degrees makes a big difference

i have several guns, from plastic to all metal. from autoloaders to revolvers..i can shoot all of them very well.

for me, i am not a "gun snob", as i enjoy all that i have.

do i like one platform over another.??

yes, i too like the 1911 platform.

but each gun has it's own fit, feel, and finish. some are battle guns, some are range guns, some are self defense guns.


Glocks (to me) serve a purpose for who ever wants a good shooting gun, and i don't speak as a "Glock fanboy".

the pic below, was when i was just starting to shoot in January of '20..as you can see by the date on the target, it was now the month of May....so only about 4-5 months of once per week practicings...

many more "hits" in center mass, wouldn't you say for a gun being the "worst" like you say of a Glock.>???

keeping in mind, i was still new at this..???...and i still needed to learn finger/trigger placement-control.....not too shabby for a newbie, wouldn't you admit.>???

and here is only 1 example of the many different 1911's that i own, and center mass hits, and then some...and, i didn't get my first 1911 until about june/july of '21....

so what i'm getting at is......

it's all in ones head that Glocks can't be shot easily, or the grip sucks, or they are not accurate, or they are cheap plastic guns....

they work, time and time again.

it's the shooters ability or lack of it, is why Glocks suck
