I like and have had both. Really hard to beat a 1911 with a good trigger though.

I have many of both. I prefer hammers, but I have striker guns that I love.

I also have both and like both. But there is something special about my XDe, and I nearly always start grinning while I am shooting it.

I have and like both. The real question is which is best for which application. IMO, striker is the best choice for every day carry because, for me at least, I don't like my arm hitting the hammer and scratching my arm up. I'm also a big believer in keeping it as clean as possible when carrying, nothing sticking out to catch on things.

Was always a striker fire guy until I bought my 1911 mil spec RO.
LOVE that gun. Going to be hard deciding what to carry.

It's not a matter of "need".

They're two different systems of operation with pluses & minuses.

I have both & have used both for decades. I'm using striker-fired more nowadays.
