To each their own guys. I spent $400 to get a walnut stock + handguard for my M1A (that came with a plastic stock) because I thought it looked better. We all have our own personal preferences on what beauty is...

Function and fit is one thing...beauty is totally subjective, I have lady-killer buddies that married hags and they've been happy for 20-30 years...(not to mention my ex who married me for 27 years, and I'm no trophy, while she is a looker).

Does it represent the camo patters that was used by Germany? I know the darker colored one was used in WW2. don't know about that lighter one, can't imagine that being used anywhere. maybe for snow. it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I thought I read that the lighter one was used on the 416.

I don't find the looks as ugly as the price. The set might appeal to German collectors. Or maybe those who like to collect Germans?

Is there something special about the "high chromium cannon steel" used in the manufacture?

I guess you can label something "rare" and it will generate appeal. Even Edsels are collectable these days.

I'll label it "interesting, but not for me". You can buy 5 regular VP9s for that price. I'm a "bang for your buck, more is more" kind of guy. No froo-froo stuff for me. I enjoy my Plain Jane VP9 just fine.

Those are modern Bundeswehr camo patterns; both European (Flecktarn) and Desert (Tropentarn) patterns.

Look up what a 25th Anniversary HK4 four caliber set is going for, or what a 50th anniversary P7 runs…it’s an investment, but probably worth it.

A P7 is an investment under virtually any circumstances. A VP9, as much as I like them, not so much so. I’d just like to see them bring the bronze slide back with an optic cut. I’d be down for one of those.
