When I visited Bawston (Boston), it was interesting to note that it was 2 weeks before they knew of the declaration and it to be read on the Boston court steps after it was signed in Philadelphia.
It was a 2 week horse ride from Philly to Boston.

On that note I read an article today about the last battle of the Revolutionary War being fought between the French and British in India. It wasn’t until a British ship arrived with official news that the a treaty over the war in America had been signed 6 months prior that hostilities ceased. Most people are not aware that France and its Allie’s joined the Revilutionary war as much to contain British expansionism as to support the Colonies. In the process the French and British took the fight all the way around the globe.
