Hard To Fathom

Just found this on LinkedIn and couldn’t believe what I was reading.

🇨🇦☠️467 days since Canada started killing extrajudicially by lethal injection, disabled folks who aren't dying naturally. In 2020 Canada killed 20 people a day this way.All that is required is the signature of the victim and two medical practitioners on a form and within 48 hours that victim will be killed by a lethal injection. There is no right to independent legal advice or judicial oversight of these killings.

A Canadian hospice that refused to kill it's patients had it's funding removed and was shut down.

In 2020, Canada killed extrajudicially by lethal injection 7,600 people or 20 innocent, vulnerable people a day. 2.5% of all deaths in Canada were caused by a doctor or nurse administering a lethal injection.

In March 2023 Canada will further expand the targets of it's people killing business to kill people who are suffering mentally, but who are not disabled or dying.

If you do not agree to have your hard earned tax dollars spent on killing innocent, vulnerable Canadians write your Member of Parliament https://lnkd.in/g88b3m-4 or Senator https://lnkd.in/g2rkwjHf and say so!

This is against the objections of the United Nations, reputable disability rights groups and constitutional scholars.

You have a duty as a citizen to educate yourself about this barbaric practice now, not pretend not to know what is going on as many did when Hitler was carrying out his "Final Solution."

I am not practicing as a lawyer and this is my personal opinion, not legal advice. If you want legal advice about how Canada kills people consult with a lawyer.

Sad. The respect for human life had been degraded so much that some view human euthanasia as being just as acceptable as putting your dog down. I understand that there are people in terrible pain and are suffering and want it to just be over. I watched my dad die a long lingering death but it was peaceful and comfortable with the proper care that respected his human dignity. Nature took its course and he left this world naturally.
I’m going down swingin’.
This is a very coarse world we live in.

The PR of Oregon has taken the first step in that direction.

The state has also decriminalized use of all dangerous drugs, and well as prostitution.

ODs have gone through the roof.

The opening paragraph of this thread doesn't really match the bill in the link, which is basically just an assisted suicide bill. The person needs to consent to be euthanized and their death has to be reasonably forthcoming. I got no problem with that.

As a Christian and as one who believes you have the right to control your own life, not the government, I struggle with this one, however, there is one line in that that is most disturbing.

"In March 2023 Canada will further expand the targets of it's people killing business to kill people who are suffering mentally, but who are not disabled or dying."

This right here is the slippery slope that can turn a modern western society into 1930's Nazi Germany almost overnight.

Agreed, that bothered me also.
For me not even a slippery slope but down right barbaric.

And reading that line it's very clear that it was written by someone very opposed to the bill. If you read the bill you will see that under ALL circumstances, the person being euthanized has to ASK SPECIFICALLY for that to happen BEFORE they become incapacitated to a point where they can no longer make rational decisions. They aren't talking about killing crazy people or people with down syndrome or anything. Read the actual bill.

At what point is a mentally ill person of sound mind to make the decision to end their life? Its not a matter of reading the bill as much as it is common sense. If they are mentally ill, they are, by definition, not of sound mind, end of story.

I don't think anything in the bill allows anyone to execute mentally ill people, but to answer your question, BEFORE they become mentally ill. Most people aren't born mentally ill. Even Schizophrenics are usually completely dormant until trauma or drug use brings it out. I think the point of the bill is to allow people who have chosen to end their lives rather than live in dementia to make a living will PRIOR to that happening that specifies it. Kinda like a DNR deal here.

From the text:

"Whereas further consultation and deliberation are required to determine whether it is appropriate and, if so, how to provide medical assistance in dying to persons whose sole underlying medical condition is a mental illness in light of the inherent risks and complexity of the provision of medical assistance in dying in those circumstances;

And whereas the law provides that a committee of Parliament will begin a review of the legislative provisions relating to medical assistance in dying and the state of palliative care in Canada in June 2020, which review may include issues of advance requests and requests where mental illness is the sole underlying medical condition;"

There is no provision in that statement that requires any type of advanced request. It puts the request at the feet of the government to make the decision. Further, the only types of mental illness that I am aware of that can even remotely be predicted are early onsets of Alzheimer's and dementia. Both of which you already suffer from at the time of diagnosis.

People who suffer from schizophrenia and psychosis are usually subject to it at any time, for any reason without medication to curb it. I know people with both unfortunately. Makes for quite a story when a 65 yo woman, for no apparent reason, gets up and runs down the street in her undergarments, talking to people who aren't there. The baseline for coherency is, do you know where you are, who you are, when in time it is, and if you understand the circumstances going on around you. That's a flimsy baseline given that it is so by your own admission. Listen to a judge when charges are brought against someone in a court.

Kinda like a DNR deal here.
I agree with the DNR, but everything else is suspect. Medically assisted suicide is tough. Remember the movie with Richard Dryfuss where he had a terminal illness and wanted off life support....Initally they thought he was depressed.

It is up to the Canadian people to stand up to this tyranny as well as their loss of rights to carry and own firearms for self preservation from the government. You guys elected that crazy guy, need to send him back to his families money. Some states have this ability to kill their disabled and dying in the U.S as well. All it is, is adult abortion...
