Heart surgery

Just went through this surgery about 6 months ago and getting better every day.. You will do just fine.
Prayers will go out for you and your doctor’s hands.
But most of all thank you for your service sir
Thanks but with the condition I have it will not get better--only worse. Taking the medications would really not work, let's say i would be a test subject, and most of the side effects would be rather uncomfortable. So, with that in mind I have gone against my witch doctors advice and will not take any. I have come to the conclusion that this is the way it is and i will just have to see it through. Guess i got some lousy genetics but really no one is to blame for that, it just happened. My time might be coming short but i have a lot to do. Also, who knows, i could be around for another 10 years! With that in mind today i will be gathering up a few firearms i have not used in a while and selling them back to LGS. Most of them are long guns along with the ammo. No sense in keeping them. Plus honestly my heart has not been in the shooting sports for a while. It seems i have to force myself to go to the range or gravel pit. Thats not the way it should be. So hopefully by the end of the day i should be a few dollars richer. I also really have to spend time looking for a new cardiologist. I have a few names that i have to check into. I just want to be comfortable and have the best life possible with my wife and my precious Maggie dog. Again, I would like to thank you all for all the encouragement and nice comments. I really do appreciate it.

For the past ten or so years I made a annual visit to the heart doctor and had a echocardiogram!
During my last visit the doctor finally said I was due for a valve replacement. A week later I went to the hospital for my first visit. After a few more visits I finally got a TAVR valve on 2/15/23. The next day I got a pacemaker. About 6 month ago I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Now I am back to 'normal' walking the dog about three miles a day.
The worst part was a change in diet. I quit chasing the potato chip truck.
Too much sugar and salt(sodium) in my old 81 year old diet.
I feel better and am much more active. Of course I thankful for the prayers I received and the wonderful support of my wife of nearly 50 years.

Well, you hang in there and things will likely get better. As for selling the guns, I've decided to not sell any of mine when the time comes. I'm leaving them for the wife to use as bait in helping her find a new guy as good and as purty as I was...... LOL! jj

I'm with you jumpinjoe. I've even found a funeral home that has a hearse with a trailer hitch on the rear bumper that can pull a u-haul with all my guns to the cemetery. That way I CAN take them with me!
