HellCat handgun

Another option, but one that has it's inherent risks, is to use the rear sight as a 'catch' and by placing it against your belt, or pocket, or a bench, you can just rack the pistol, usually with one hand. I know some who depend on the process for one reason or another, but you must be aware to absolutely keep your finger out of the trigger guard when using this method. I do not teach it nor do I recommend it except in very limited and extreme circumstances. Just something to 'seriously' ponder!!!!

Or, you can get a S&W Pro series J-frame revolver, they have very nice and lighter trigger pulls then the regular factory production model, plus, they only cost a little more then regular production ones, just a thought.

I’m a Disabled Veteran but not from war. I was diagnosed with som type of Muscular Dystrophy that they can’t even identify. My question is I have weakness in my hands due to the onstage of arthritis. I’m looking to purchase the Hellcat pistol. Is that a good idea for me? I would appreciate any suggestions for this. Thank You and God Bless
We are new shooters here. I have no trouble racking the slide on hubs’ Warther 45PPQ. Learning to operate it with an Itarget while waiting for time when safe to take in person classes and visit a range. Neither husband nor I can rack the slide. I am the one who opens jars, manipulates things, having stronger hands than husband. He cannot even muscle the slide on the brand new Hellcat. I didn’t expect this, bought the gun for it’s features. Very sad that I’ve now got a gun that neither of us can operate. Frankly, it seems mighty odd that I can rack the Warther, no problem. How can the Hellcat slide be practically frozen?

New firearms, especially small compacts, can be difficult to rack the slide until they are fired several times (like hundreds of rounds). I know that's a catch 22 situation, "How can I start shooting hundreds of rounds, if I can't initially rack the slide?". There are attachments and such that can be added onto the gun to help with racking. Here's a link that describes a few:

And this forum's Editor/Administrator, Mike H., recently posted about the Slide Spider, that also helps with racking:

Other firearms manufactures, have models that are made with the "easier to rack" in mind for shooters that have difficulties in this area. The Smith and Wesson 380 EZ and 9mm EZ handguns are two such firearms.
I linked another thread from this forum below, that previously discussed this same issue about disabilities making racking a slide difficult (link below). Perhaps that, and other on here, will give even more suggestions on this subject. Good luck, and I hope it eventually works out for you, on finding methods of making this difficulty easier to handle.

Well said, Sir. Reviewers rave about the EZ models
