HELLCAT PRO which red dot is best.

Just got a new Hellcat pro does anyone, have enough experience, to tell me which red dot sight is better the SMSc Shield, or the HEX Wasp.
Well first welcome to the forum from Kentucky.
I have Springfield model handguns but not the HellCat models, there are many members that do so I’m sure you’ll get great information.
From reading the threads with the same question you are asking I believe you may be limited to what will fit however I’m sure you will find something that will work.
I do have a red dot on one of my handguns and I’ll suggest you look for something that has shake awake which the Hex Wasp does not have.

I've heard nothing but good things about the RMSc, SMSc, and the new Trijicon RMRcc. However it's the prices of those that deterred me. Therefore I went with the Swampfox Sentinel, CT Rad Micro Pro, and the Riton 3 Tactix MPRD 2, all three were budget friendly when I bought them and all 3 perform very well. The Holosun 407k/507k are popular too, but I think you have shave down a pair of the lugs on the Hellcat or get a mounting plate to install the Holosuns. I say research a couple of YouTube videos and see which you like best.

I hav the Hellcat RDP with the hex wasp. The red dot is always on, therefore doesn’t require shake to wake. The intensity depends on the ambient light. This may be a problem when using during daylight with the gun in shadows. The claimed battery life is 16,000 hours. I plan to change the battery once per year.

Yea, I went with the Shield RMSc, it's the same as the SMSc, but it has an aluminum body, and the SMSc is polymer. I hope I made the right chose. We'll see when it arrives.

I'm sure you made a great choice. At the end of the day it's about preference and your price point.

I have the RMSc on my Hellcat for almost 3 years now and have had no problems at all with it. I recommend the Dream Plastics cover to protect it in your range bag or storage as well. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. Here's the link for the cover: https://dreamplastics.com/product/shield-rmsc-scope-cover/

Got HEX Wasp with Hellcat RDP. First battery died within a month after I got my Hellcat. I didn't have a chance to shoot it and it was sitting in complete darkness in my range bag with expected minimal battery drainage since red dot is expected to adjust to light. The battery appeared to be a cheapo Amazon brand and I blamed it for fast discharge. Installed fresh Sony battery but within a month or two it also died also sitting in a bag all this time. I replaced dead battery with another fresh Sony and recorded date. If battery dies in a month or two then I'll contact Springfield Armory since my Hex Wasp seems to be defective. I search a few forums and it seems I'm not alone with this issue...

I have the same problem I have had mine for 6 months or so and have put at least 4 batteries in it . Not very happy with it.

I have two Vortex Vipers that the price is down to $170 at a few places now. They work well and optics planet has a FDE version for the same price.
