Help Deciding on a Purchase

How about a nice little SIG M18? They just made it on the CA roster and are very fine pistols (and no, they do no go off on themselves, only the internet-educated grand master gunsmiths believe this BS, and 99.9% of the ones repeating this have never even help one). Add a Romeo1Pro to it and you have quite the nice setup.

The RDS I mentioned having on my Hellcat back in msg @12 I think, was/is the Shield SMSc. I bought it way back even before the Wasp was available and put it on as soon as I got it. Actually even before we knew the Wasp was in the works. Well, when the Wasp did hit the market I wanted one since it was SA. It was one of the earliest ones and apparently born before the bad ones (2nd gen). The battery has been in it since Dec of 2021 iirc and it's still going strong. I've not yet changed it out on my gun due to the Shield is still operating well, dead on with my iron sights, and some time left on the current battery. When the battery does die, I'll probably put a new one in the Wasp and install it just for comparison. I'll post a good update in 3-4-5 years when the Wasp battery dies, so y'all stick around ... ya' hear?!

I bought a Wasp the day after they became available. 1st battery lasted 1.5 years. That wasn’t sitting in a closet, but the Hellcat was my primary carry gun. 2nd battery is over a year and still going strong. But something happened apparently after that 1st run that turned the Wasp into what seems to be garbage. Not sure what change was made, but seems like they never figured it out and fixed it. I like mine and don’t have plans to change it out, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to get one at this point. It’s a shame because it’s a decent little RDS when it works.

Looks like the P365 is making it to the roster too

If you like the hellcat then I suggest seeing if the p365 is an option it sounds like it will be. I know a few models that come with 10 round magazines but honestly from what I heard guns are just stupid expensive in CA and didn’t they just pass another tax on them on top of what they already had? It’s not great in Washing with the mag ban and our current weapons ban. But at least they aren’t taxing us to death yet.

The markup on Hellcats and Echelons in CA is only bested by PG&E’s and Comcast’s price gouging rates.

That m18 is available not sure what the total will be once you transfer it and put the tax on it though or really how all that works in CA.

Thanks everyone for your input. I backed away from the Hellcat as $1350 was too steep a price to pay regardless of how much I really want one.
Wow! Is this due to being a Ca sale, or something else? A typical Hellcat OSP locally is typically <$600 last I knew. Was the Hellcat you were looking at something special ... compensator maybe? Or Hellcat Pro? Even either of those should not be $1300 with/without a RDS.

Just this: https://www.springfield-armory.com/...at-3-micro-compact-osp-9mm-handgun-whex-wasp/

Newer models are listing from $1.5 -$1.8k plus transfer and DROS fees.
Dude, move out of this $hithole! CA used to be a Paradise, but nothing would make me go back voluntarily. Pack your stuff, it will only get worse! I saw the light 5-6 years ago, and you wouldn't believe what I hear from my friends and ex-neighbors! I guess you would since you're living it everyday... Bay Area, right? Guessing from your handle...

I hear you. Trust me, I do, unfortunately, “the boss” wants us to wait a couple more years until we retire. 2026 can’t get here soon enough. And yes, we are in the East Bay/Tri-Valley.

This just hit my inbox. (Mods, if the pic should be removed, please lmk)
That’s what I carry, I used to carry a Officer sized 1911 and still did in winter. But honestly in winter time I just carry the 15 round in the p365. I do not have huge mits and I shoot the p365 really well. Plus practice has helped. I just need to add a dot to mine lol it’s happening this year just hoping to get a slide on sale sometime between Veterans Day and the new year.

And "here we go" is right, this is almost comical to watch this nonsense, so predictable. I'd wager this is going to be "enforced" far more than any of the daily carjackings and burglary you guys are victim of. After all, it's far easier to beat up on the law abiding citizens and distributing fines than protecting them...
