History of the .45 ACP Cartridge

Another good article Anni. One of my favorite rounds, as witnessed by the fact I own 3 different .45 ACPs. :) :) :)
 
I have not modified my theory: the US military did not replace the 1911-A1 with the M9. Computer aided design and manufacturing has rendered battle handguns obsolete. I'd much rather carry more magazines for an H&K 416 than a handgun.

From my vantage point, which might reveal a perspective very different from vantage points of others. the Springfield Armory TRP .45 Auto sets alone at the pinnacle of law enforcement handguns.
