Hotel Chains for Gun Owners

Different states have different laws, but from my point of view here in the South, my hotel room is my castle. My concealed weapon is concealed so it is a non issue. When traveling to hunt I wont't leave guns in the truck and take cased guns into my hotel room without a thought. I don't recall ever seeing a "no firearms" sign at any hotel, but then I do my best to avoid the communist states.

me tooo
imo leaving them in a vehicle is just plain asking for them not to be there when you return. then bg or bad girl uses them to do harm.. that is something that would haunt me , knowing my stuff was kidnapped and forced into a life of crime
 
I was at hotel recently in St. Louis , Mo and asked if they had a safe for customers.

They immediately told me, without any thought or indication that is what I wanted to store, they do not allow guns to be put in the safe.

I haven't visited that hotel since

I can see why, for safety reasons, you would not want desk personnel handling guns going in and out of their safe, or of ensuring it remains secure and safe with multiple clerks having access.

I grew up in St. Louis. I live about 40 miles southwest of there now.

Don’t take this the wrong way but I F’in hate Jackson Missouri. You probably gave me a speeding ticket. I get one every time I go through there.

Now that I think of it I hate Jackson Mississippi too.
 
I worked in N St. Louis for 9 years. I guarantee you that’s not a breeze. I’ve been shot at 4 times and my best friend and another guy were shot to death on my job. And it’s not like I’m a cop. Just an underground construction operator for a utility company.

I agree with Powerboatr. The World doesn't need to know I'm armed unless I need to defend myself.

I've never seen any of the people who claim to open carry educate people actually change anybody's opinion.

There was a guy on another discussion board who lived in Texas when they got legalized open carry. He's stated multiple times at what he saw was that a bunch of stores posted the 30.07 signs that made it a crime to open carry on their premises.

He said that a lot of businesses when they put up the one sign they went ahead and put up the 30.06 sign which made it a crime to carry concealed on their premises as well.

He said that all in all it was a net loss for the RTKBA.

Rougher than north St.Louis ? I'm not sure if you are aware but STL has been the murder capital of the country like 15 of the last 20 years.

If it's any consolation I hate Jackson Missouri way more than I hate Jackson Mississippi. But I hate Texarkana more than them both.

I only stay at hotels with in room safes. Going on a 2 week get-a-way to a beach condo & the first thing I looked for was a safe. Can't really take a gun to the beach, so a safe is a must.

I don't trust a hotel safe at all. I would never use one. They can definitely get into them. That means the woman cleaning your room can potentially get into them.

I'm going to The Keys the end of April. I will be spending a lot of time on beaches. With a bag. Which will have my gun in it.

Smart.

I used to be a hotel manager in a former life. Staff absolutely DOES have access to in-room safes, and they should not be trusted. Not necessarily housekeepers, but management absolutely does.

Is the bag waterproof? I like going in the water with my wife, so bringing our gun's in a bag to the beach doesnt work for us. The place we're staying doesn't have maid service. We are on the 9th floor in a gated building overlooking the "Gulf of America" so not worried about a break in. I'm comfortable in a hotel leaving my gun if necessary in a safe and a do not disturb sign on the door.

Well, it ain't waterproof enough to go in the water. I'm not much for getting in the water though. Riptides, sharks, jellyfish, cougars. :ROFLMAO:

I never leave anything in a hotel room. Safe or not. And honestly, high end, classy hotels are worse. Which of course the wife has decided we will not be staying in any fleabag hotels. :rolleyes:
