Hotel Chains for Gun Owners

Some people in this group would love to see you dip your bare feet into the water. Not me, but a few on here would!
I live on a river. As in this is my backyard. I don't go into ANY BODY OF WATER in my bare feet.

I can relate. Since my recent divorce, I pleasantly realized a $25-30k raise in disposable income. That's without a raise in pay from my employer
My daughter is getting married in Key Largo. They rented a beachfront mansion with a guest house for the weekend. The rest of the 2 weeks my wife and I will be driving around Florida and up the eastern seaboard far enough to bypass Atlanta on the way into the smokeys and eastern Tennessee. So my "Son in law" has paid for the Key Largo digs, but the rest of it will cost me plenty I'm sure.

Amen. From 9 to 12 years old, we lived in Exmouth, Western Australia. My Dad was stationed at Harold E. Holt Naval Communication Station from 1976 to 1979. Exmouth is on the Northwest Cape, Western Australia. Small town. When we went into the water, we had to wear shoes or sneakers. This was to protect us from stepping on a highly venomous fish, called a Stone Fish. They look like stones, and if you are not careful, you can step on them. The Dorsal Fin has venomous tips, which when stepped on, would inject venom into your foot. Very deadly, ugly fish.

Ya left out that the fish poop in the water but it's still a lot of fun. I grew up on Long Island and spent a lot of time in the water.
I've been in the ocean and lived near them a couple times. Never felt comfortable going out any further than lower chest high. I can swim, in fact I was on diving teams from about 6 years old until nearly high school. But I dislike large or deep bodies of water. I have an irrational fear of drowning. I'm fine in smaller rivers, but if the water is like 50' deep or something I'm not getting in or on it unless I absolutely have to. I flew to Europe twice and I can say without a doubt the thing that made me nervous about it was going over the ocean. You'll never catch me on a cruise, that's for sure.

You mean you don’t go noodling?
As I have aged I despise getting into the ocean here. Not so much what’s in the water just the rip currents are so bad. If the waters glass I don’t mind getting out there swimming or floating. Just to old to be that one idiot that the EMS or Fire dept has to rescue.

No. You'll never catch me on the Mississippi or the Missouri. I grew up on a tributary of the Mississippi. Maybe 1/3 larger than the river I currently live on. I swam in it when I was a kid but I wouldn't now. Well, at least the northernmost end close to the Mississippi which is where I was raised. Down south near Meramec State Park it's beautiful. Trout fishing is good.

The violent crime rate in STL is double what it is in Jackson Mississippi.

I'll make a note that bassbob nitpicks every post. ;)

It was a general statement based on working in one city versus visiting another.

That being said.
