House Republicans Fight ATF’s Attempt To Bog Gun Purchases Down In Paperwork

I purchased a Hellcat last weekend. The gun store showed me the new paperwork they have to file as of 11/1/20. Not going to be fun and I also heard fee's and taxes may be going up as well, not sure if that is true. Luckily I was immediate approval, FL CCW walked out the door with my new gun.

It's what happens when Congress allows bureaucratizes and not lawmakers (them), to craft rules (laws), sometimes based on their political and moral beliefs. Hopefully, Congress will get back to their Constitutional duties that clearly defines which branch writes then passes the laws for the President to sign. It's OK for the ATF to bring items up to Congress for possible actions, but it shouldn't be the other way around. Just my opinion for whatever that's worth. ;)

The only fee's I know of is the one your FFL would charge you for processing the firearm "if" you order it from a place like Gunbroker, etc.

The only taxes I know of would be your state/local sales taxes on purchases if your area has them. The only federal taxes are the excise tax on sporting goods that manufacturers apply & pay the govt well before it reaches the buying public.

Form 4473, seems to be in a constant state of change. Pretty soon they'll be asking if the buyer has any pets & what kind. ;)

ATF has been inconsistent with the third-party rules, sometimes excluding them from assisting with filling out any digital forms, which can be filled out and processed faster than paper

(y) House Republicans! I studied Latin in school for 2 years. There, I learned that "pro" means favorable or for and "con" means unfavorable or against. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that Congress is the opposite of Progress! :)
