How many rounds do you carry?

Wow, wonder what was going on with that guy. Scary. We have a 10 round limit. Would be tough for anyone to reload getting hit over the head. Hopefully the LEO is OK.

Unfortunately for me, for 11 or so hours a day, during which I am deep in the most dangerous parts of the most dangerous city in America, I am unable to carry anything full sized so it's 7+1 and an extra mag ( which the extra mag wouldn't have helped this cop any). On my own time I am always carrying a 17+1 9MM or a 13+1 .45. On my own time I don't generally go anywhere I am likely to need it though.

Then again, if I was in the situation that cop was in ( which is highly unlikely at any rate) I definitely wouldn't have put 12 in his chest. After 2 I think I would have changed tactics and went for the head or the balls. And I definitely would have had more distance between us. In reality I probably wouldn't have even drawn down on the guy. Maybe just beat the F out of him.

That was here in Maryland, where we have that "magic number" 10 round limit.

Totally arbitrary, and it would get a law-abiding innocent citizen killed if Professor Stick attacked them instead of a LEO.

Keeping the video on my phone, definitely. Especially here in the People's Republik...

I was surprised he didn't shoot sooner. Being Maryland though, I have to think the hyper-political prosecutorial climate may have had something to do with it. I've seen a lot of these type of police shooting videos and there are plenty where the suspects weapon was lowered but he was advancing faster than the cop could move backwards and bad guy was shot.
The authors comment on pelvis vs head was also enlightening. I've seen this mentioned before but seeing this kind of cemented the fact that I need to change my training.

Note to newer shooters. Don't be shooting pelvis shots at an indoor range. Consider the background and angle of your rounds. Range owners do NOT like their floors being shot up.

14+19 9mm

EDC is a XDs .45. 7+1, and depending on what way I'm carrying, one or two extra 7 round magazines. Sometimes I carry my XDM .45, so 13+1, and one 13 rounder.
