I am proficient with both. I have no lights on any handguns.As far as pistols go; I know there's iron sight folks and red dot folks. At 7 meters I feel pretty comfortable with either as long as I have a decent light source. I don't think a pistol without a light should be used for home defense. Like the article says, you might just need that other hand for something and holding a flashlight could slow you down at a crux.
