How much play (slop, wobble) should there be between a Saint upper and lower?

I’ve always found that any “slop” between the upper & lower to be a non-issue, except in the head of the user. One of my favorite AR’s—a preban Colt CAR—has slop like you won’t believe, but still shoots 1.5” off the bench, and outshot a “matched set” upper & lower with no slop that I had.

I abhor accu-wedges…because I had one disintegrate and lock up a rifle. Never will touch one again.

Seriously..if it shoots well, don’t sweat the slop.
Agree. I hate the wedge. If one must, I recommend the shims advertised just below the wedge on the Midway site. Easy fix.

Back when little red wedges came out I tried one on my 1993 Eagle Arms H-bar, now the companies name is Armalite, after Eagle Arms bought the name. Anyhoo, my rifle was already so tightly manufactured that, that wedge would not fit at all. With the wedge placed where it was supposed to go I couldn't close the upper, I couldn't even squeeze it closed. I bet it's still somewhere in my gear stash.....some where 😉
That 20" barreled H-Bar is a very accurate Iron sighted rifle.
