Agreed, however I won't carry with an external safety any longer for the same reason. Point and shoot for me too. My Da/Sa is de-cock only. I believe the pros outweigh the cons. One and only one, a familiar daily carry.
A problem I encountered once was after transitioning to striker-fire from an old SW DA/SA was the safety lever. When I occasionally use it, I have a tendency to fail to disengage it, could amount to a costly split second error if not on a practice range.
Point and shoot from here on, though safeties are a good thing in some ways, especially if in the event of being disarmed, a feral assailant might not be aware that it has one, giving you that extra second or two to react.
I also own a 2.5" Ruger GP100. I love that gun and have been tempted to use it as my EDC several times throughout the years. I know that I would sacrifice capacity, but my GP100 is a 7-shot model and I doubt I would feel under-armed with 7 rounds of .357 Magnum. The GP100 is harder to conceal than a J-frame, but I can shoot it much more accurately at much greater distances. I have been known to carry a J-frame in a pocket when working out in the neighborhood, but I've never used a revolver as my EDC. If I ever switch to a revolver for EDC, my GP100 is at the top of my list.well for the first time for me, i will be switching out to my Ruger GP 100 2.5" revolver, as soon as my holster arrives.
i currently carry a Hellcat, and have been for the past year, when i got my ccw.
just to "mix it up" a bit for me, if for no other reason(s).
