How To Properly Lube Your Striker-Fired Pistol

I’m new here so I hesitate to say anything, but I’m thinking the amount used in the video was so that it showed up better in the video? He said to use a small amount then proceeded to use more than I thought prudent. But my experience is a little more than zero (fairly new gun owner).

BTW, hello everybody.
Welcome slim6597! You may be right about the video. Scott Folk is very knowledgeable. We all have our clean and lube regimens, so we tend to stick with what works for us in the long run until we find something better. Don't hesitate to speak up, as the friendly exchange of ideas on this forum, particularly from members far more knowledgeable than myself, is how I learn new things. It's an exceptionally friendly and fun spirited group here, supplying good information and many laughs along the way. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum Slim.

Welcome slim, pull up a bucket and sit a spell. (y)(y)(y)

As for the video, it did seem like an awful lot of oil. And best I remember, the manual that came with my Hellcat didn't say anything at all about oiling any locking block. I don't necessarily see a major problem doing that as long as it's kept to a bare minimum. It's just that I've pretty much always went along with most manuals, especially on new stuff.

I just usually kinda' accept that the guys who built it and wrote the book on it, probably know a little more about it than I do, at least for a while. Sometimes on an older a used piece I'll vary a little to something I've had good results with in the past.
