I am not sure if I can buy an XDM 10mm in Washington.

So yea, I live in WA until I can finish my house and sell it, that could take a while. I know magazine capacity here has took a turn towards dumb at 10 rounds, but I don't think that should limit me from owning the pistol provided I can get 10 round mags with it. But I don't see any available. Am I sol?

Check and see if it's on the State's list for purchasing/owning if that exist as some states have such list.
 
The magazine capacity is the only limiting factor, so when shopping and put in WA compliant for M&P, XD-M or Glock all in semi-auto 10mm the only one that shows up is the Glock and only the glock with the 10 round mag. I dont think smith and wesson or springfield off a 10 round 10mm mag for their pistols, unless I am wrong and am not looking in the right place.

Yea, looked there at there site, no 10 rounders for your gun,
