Merry Christmas to me. I could not let this go to another. Maybe the 10mm after the new year.

I'm more a Tele guy, but if the right Strat came along ???? Congratulations brother and Merry Christmas.

The finish on this ( 2021 ? ) looks almost exactly like the finish I put on a guitar I built about 10 years ago for my guitar player. I started with a kit from Carvin. I forget what the model name is, but it is their Strat copy. I used the Carvin body and neck because, well, the best necks I've ever played were Carvin necks. Threw their guts in a box and shoved 'em in a drawer somewhere and used Fender electronics. Except the pups. Jason wanted Hot Rails. He still gigs that guitar along with his Ace Frehley Les Paul that I modded heavily.

Here is a 1999 Carvin TL60 that I bought brand new from the Carvin custom shop. I made a few small changes ( vintage Orange Drop caps and Switchcraft pots and jack), but this guitar plays and sounds better than any Fender I've ever seen. In decades of being a working musician and total gear whore I have never ran across a neck as sweet as this one. In 22 years I have had to adjust the rod exactly one time. Super fast and super low action.

Okay, well I had to switch photo sharing sites a few years ago and my wife has since put all the photos and video from my machine on her giant, all encompassing, network system of hard drives so I have no pictures of my TL60 on this machine. I did manage to find one of the one I built though. Jason's infant son had hidden his trem bar somewhere and he wondered if this was a suitable replacement.

Thanks Bass. I am not sure what year it is , it’s called honey burst. I really wanted a maple neck but this is what they had in. It will give me something a little different. My first electric was a MIM Tele, candy apple red , maple neck, I still have it and love that thing. The only mod I made was dropped a set of seymour Duncans’s in it. Many electric guitars can cover up sloppy playing but not a Tele. I’m digging the beater bar 😂 and finish. What type of clear coat is that?
This dude got me on the Tele Path.

Yeah man. Gatton and Terry Kath for me. And of course that iconic Hyde Park concert in 1969 where Clapton, Baker and Winwood debuted Blind Faith. Particularly this one. Clapton’s tone here is amazing. Of course this isn’t totally a Tele. He had one of his Strat necks on it. (Brownie to be exact)

An update. It was short lived. The strat was a beautiful guitar but the Telecaster is just my thing.
I sold the Strat bought this player Telecaster (MIM) and upgraded the pickups to Fender Custom shop 51 Nocasters.
That leaves me a few bucks left over to go out and pick up that XD Elit 10 mm.
😎
