Yes, I'm not the least surprised; I predicted the recurrence of disease long ago, even before our government began sharing their slanted tallies concerning illegals crossing the southern border. This, and other nightmares, are just beginning; we're destined to "reap the whirlwind."
 
I heard measles has broken out in Chicago also. They didn't vaccinate for that stuff where they are from, big surprise.

in time, all those "childhood diseases" will make not only a return, but a very much stronger variant of each disease as in time, they got morphed into stronger strains.

and sadly, (i feel) it is us that will also have to get vaccines as well.
 
Get used to it. With all the anti vaxxers now, diseases that were considered eliminated are coming back. And with Artic melting releasing unknown pathogens a new wave of new illnesses is likely.

We should definitely vaccinate all asylum seekers, but we have TB outbreaks in the US constantly. And overcrowding at detention centers or prisons is a sure way to cause disease outbreaks. Here's some data on prison outbreaks (including TB) https://www.cdc.gov/correctionalhealth/health-data.html

This was the number one disease that USCIS seemed to be most concerned with when I was navigating the immigration process. We had to have a negative test before we were allowed to enter the country. Now…it doesn’t seem to effing matter. Why did so many of us go through the process to get here, when in the end it doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Well, because we did the right thing, the right way. This ticks me off more than you know…😡

fact is i do know..

it's like nearly anything else that is demanded from some, and passed off for others.

we NEED to prove we are Americans, and have to have a passport to travel to Canada, the most notorious country in the world..????

i can see have a passport for Uganda, Brazil, or Mexico, but Canada..???

and if i recall, we need to show proof of updated vaccinations...(for overseas traveling?)

That very thing ticks a lot more off than you know Bella. And the vast majority of them didn't have to go through the process personally. It's much like the fact I and others have to remove our shoes and show ID to get on a plane on the 'simple' end, to the spreading of communicable diseases that have been virtually wiped out in this country for decades on the other end. The system is so unfair and out of balance, I would think voting people in general would hold those in this administration responsible for their actions. Many, many cases of the benefits these illegal migrants are afforded greatly exceed the benefits afforded to American citizens who often have lived/worked their entire lives here including homeless, vets, etc.

Look, I fully understand any man wanting to provide a better life for his family, and that opportunity should always be available in reasonable numbers, so if the legal immigration system needs fixing, then fix it. But fixing the immigration system has absolutely nothing to do with controlling the nation's borders. In fact without borders there is no nation. What we've seen this current administration turn our southern border situation into should be enough to cause anyone with a brain to support anyone but them.

And what they've done with this invasion of illegal migrants is only going to be worse in years to come. Right now there are literally thousands, maybe 100's of 1,000's of illegal migrants working hard to conceive an 'anchor' baby to help reduce the chance of them being deported, and recognizing it would help expand their benefit package, not that many of them would ever show up for their court date anyway. Most of them are not bad people, just were born into bad circumstances. But that doesn't justify what we're seeing here to day.

I just simply cannot understand who would negatively impact our great country like this and not be considered a traitor. It's not only so unfair to those like yourself, but unfair to every single American citizen.

Sort of but not sure it’s not quite as bad as the media tells us.

At the heyday of my career BOP held around 210,000 inmates within BOP facilities and another 20,000 ish low security level in contract facilities (CCA now Core Civic, GEO Group and other private facilities) We had several positive tests a week at just my complex. Many ended up being negative they read a false positive because of a prior positive bounty of TB.

My facility became a complex with over 3,000 inmates between a medium a high security and a satellite minimum camp but I traveled all over between Lewisberg PA to Florence Colorado

So with more folks other numbers Will Naturally increase this isn’t (as of yet) the big deal the media wants folks to think.

There was a measles matrix that came out a week ago as well.

I’m at a wait and see mode myself as I have seen this before without the media reporting. We’ll see if the media spins it bigger than it really is but to me that’s what it seems to be.

This is nothing new. TB has been popping up for years. It’s almost always traced back to 3rd world sources.

This is undoubtedly true, but isn't it also fair to say that over the past 3+ years much of the 3rd world has been imported into this country. Last estimate I heard was something in the neighborhood of 10m 'known', and who knows how many 'unknowns'?

There's little real desire to "fix" the immigration process. The Left wants new supporters and voters as the DACA program children and anchor babies reach voting age and both Left & Right (two sides of the same coin) want cheap labor for their businesses. The fact that we've tolerated the open borders and the attendant 100,000+ Fentanyl deaths and 70,000+ meth deaths each year, without dragging politicians out of their offices pretty much tells you nothing will be done. Without going too far down a rabbit hole.... the Council on Foreign Relations and the more recent crop of globalist organizations which are packed with politicians, bankers and heads of industry has had erasure of national borders as a goal since the 1970's.
