Agree with the above. We had sometimes spare parts shortages, had carefully manage POL for ops and maintenance but never short of food. The statement from the PAO is pure coverup. I have an idea. In my day, leadership had to eat at the DFAC at least once per day. I'd make it two and see how fast these problems are corrected.
 
With all the other crap they have to put up with they can't even get a decent meal? Ridiculous! Upper brass should be fired!

This also is a reason why they can't meet their recruitment levels. People talk and when they find out it's miserable they don't want to enlist. Why would you want to put yourself in that situation. Weak officers and NCO's are another. If my guys were not fed properly I would be in someone's face!
 
One of my duty stations, almost 40 years ago, was Fort Carson. I was there from 1985-1988. I lived in the barracks, and the chow halls were pretty good, but not the best I've experienced in different duty stations. The worst was my last duty station at Camp Lejeune. So bad that we did cook our own meals or order a lot of pizza. But I do remember at Fort Carson during the holidays, the chow halls went all out for holiday meals. Higher level leadership was expected to show up on the holidays and eat with the troops. More than once I sat next to a General, stuffing my face with Turkey. Times have sure changed.
