Hi,
I'm a new shooter with 9mm and .22LR pistols who's been buying ammo since September of 2020. What started at $15 a box is now $25 a box on a good day. The prices fluctuate a little. For the most part I trade at my local big box stores because they generally have the best prices, Big 5, Turner's Outdoorsman, Bass Pro Shop (Cabella's). I have bought from a couple of smaller shops but they really tend to gouge. My most recent purchase at Bass Pro, $80 for a 200 round WWB, was a bit better than the same box I bought at Big 5 a couple weeks before, for $100.
The availability seems to be getting better but the prices have not really started to fall. I'm trying to be patient and buy just what I need to train. I'm hoping once there's a lot of inventory on the shelves the prices will come down. An old noob can dream, right?
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
