I recently purchased a Stainless Steel Mil-Spec 1911. It's a great pistol, but I honestly would've waited if I had known that the Garrison was coming. The non-staked front sight and improved beavertail grip safety are the only things that I would possibly want to change about my Mil-Spec. When my finances allow, I may make the Garrison my 2nd Springfield 1911.
