Is it time for national carry?

Along these lines, I am genuinely curious about how much the "gun vote" effected the election.
I haven't heard anything. I have heard a lot of things about why he won, but none have mentioned 2A rights.
I would love to see someone dig into this, like Tom Gresham, Colion Noir, Josh Prince, etc... and highlight if we did have an impact
If we can prove we did, then, that gives us much better standing to push for things that expand those rights.

Not going to happen. There are huge issues which will take far more time, the economy, the border, are two huge issues which were two of the biggest points in this election, add in crime, homelessness, especially veterans homelessness which is a national tragedy, and poverty, especially prevalent in urban areas, and you got one hell of a mouthful to chew. They are going to take some serious time and work, and yes, as much cooperation as can be mustered.

given that it has been mentioned many times, there is/was/were, MANY gun people that were not even registered voters, i don't think every single gun owner voted.

unless all that own, collect, belong to clubs, ranges, get involved, then those that are not registered voters are hoping we tow the line for them...

'screw them'........you want something done come election times????....be a registered voter and actually get out and vote.

i detest people that sit back and do nothing, yet feel compelled to bitch.

If it has anything to do with veterans I do not see Trump making the situation better. I do not think he is a friend of the military. Just my opinion.

I feel the opposite of you. I am a civilian federal employee for the Department of the Army. Things were pretty good under Trump. Within a couple months of Biden taking over, things fell apart fast. I work in the Army aviation side of things. Under Biden we have fallen so low that there is no way the Army can support or fight a war with how far its aviation readiness has fallen. I can't speak for the rest of the Army side of the house, or other branches, but the righting on the wall is clear. Our military has fallen to its lowest readiness levels under Biden.

Not to mention a lot of "gun people" buy into that "We don't want to ban guns, just reasonable gun control" and voted accordingly to Orange Man Bad.
JMO, Trumps support for the 2A is theoretical at best, more of a convenience than a conviction. There are other bigger issues that need to be delt with. You can't get congress to do its job now, we are going to have to feed them with a baby spoon not a barn shovel.
ChanceMcCall, please explain why this is not a state's rights issue. Not that I disagree with you, just playing devil's advocate.

Disagree. I think Trump likes the military just fine especially solders, it's the woke, corrupt, thieving DOD, that he has trouble with. Plus, War Hawks, and the never-ending conflicts that drain American blood and American $. Then maybe I'm just projecting my feeling onto Trump.

There is such a divergence of opinions in the various states on carrying firearms it will remain a state issue. I am content with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that there must be a pathway for CCW in all the states. Reciprocity between states exists in 38 states at my last count, I expect that number to grow somewhat. The barrier to entering reciprocal agreements for many states is a lack of training requirements in the other states. For there to be a federal national CCW the feds would set standards for screening, training, licenses, etc. I think we are better off keeping the feds out of it and leaving it to the states.

Don't get me wrong, current administration was and is terrible towards its veterans. I just don't agree with some of you who say he's going to help. This country has a history of putting its veterans under the bus so to speak. Also, veterans need to not rely on government helping them. Just because you served doesn't give you a free ride, remember you volunteered and for the most part were aware of the consequences military service could incur on individuals.

Would rather have it remain a State issue. Dems will inevitably regain control at some point, snap of an Executive Order, carrying rights gone.

I can easily understand why those in communist States would want a National Constitutional Carry.

I’m in Texas, pretty good about gun rights and has Constitutional Carry. I maintain my license to carry because, again, inevitably Dems will regain control some time in the future and “poof” Constitutional Carry out the window.

Especially when those communist States residents relocate to Texas to escape their communist State yet retain the voting decisions that destroyed the State from where they’re escaping.

Agreed, if something can possibly be screwed up, add the Federal government and it's assured.
