Searched the whole site for "peak alloy" and found no results...This is a game changer and that's putting it mildly. I'm not schilling for Federal but, seriously, this could transform the industry.
It’s going to be like Sig’s .277 Fury in that regards, I suspect. While the '"Peak Alloy" allows for greater velocities I expect Federal to be selective in what cartridges that they offer it in, likely hunting ammo like new their 7mm Backcountry.
I don't expect Federal to use it in the entire Federal catalog but in a handful of currently popular cartridges.
Also, while the new cartridge material allows for greater performance through greater pressure levels, it doesn't escape the Laws of Physics regarding recoil, and may result in greater barrel erosion (especially the throat).
And expect a premium price.

Federal put out a video showing it being reloaded. They're steel cases. Granted its some sort of steel alloy, but its still steel.
I've haven't been able to find out if its reloadable or not. If so, do standard dies work or do you need something special?
But then, I don't need another caliber to fool with. I guess I'll never know.![]()
