Is the XD Irrelevant?

Started with the XD Mod 2 .40 S&W, then the XD-E 9mm, then the XDM Elite 9mm.
They have all been excellent handguns! No misfires, good groupings, good shooting.

i didnt even waste my time to watch or read
ALL my XDs are awesome
my legacy XD service just got a new slide that has an optic plate and a new viridian optic
my other xds 45, sub and 9mm
imo are the cats meow in pistols that can take a beating carrying or woods or banging around in the truck

I have sold and traded my share of firearms over the years. My XD 9 (first gen) is one of the only ones I actually miss. Honestly, the trigger was the best on any striker fired gun I ever shot.

I shot it way better than my duty Glock, despite having literally 2 weeks and thousands of rounds of training (not just range time, actual training) with the Glock

I am SERIOUSLY considering the 3.0

I'd rather have a HiPoint
I like John, but I'll kick him in the shin for this one next time I see him (which would be the first time). I get what he's saying. Maybe the XD isn't the pistol you'd take into combat where you're dragging it through the mud, getting it wet, or sandy, or gritty, or rusty... but I've carried an XD Mod.2 9mm for years and it always goes bang when I shoot it at the range and I've run it in training classes, too. My Elite Tactical OSP (XDM) has likewise run flawlessly and that is my preferred range/training pistol. So, sorry, John, but...

Yes! So are revolvers, Glocks, 1911s, .22, .25, .32, Carbon steel knives, lever action rifles, pump shotguns, and most of all writers who can think of anything else to write about, so they put out yet another "Is X Irrelevant".
No, I didn't read it, I got other things to do like feed the cats, and watch the rain fall.

I almost bought an XD when I was working as a security guard.

Then I saw the video above. Then I
went to a training class with my church security team and I watched two people that had XDs struggle to get a proper firing grip on them and get them to fire.

I lost all interest after that

Sorry to hear that you think that XD's are poor guns. I have a xd45 over 15yrs old, it's still my daily Carry. It's good up to 40yrs. Been to the woods with me and saved me from snakes and a few pigs. I have other 45s and 2 10mm but the XD will always be my Carry.

Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “Is the XD Irrelevant?” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/is-the-xd-irrelevant/.

I have an XD in .45, and 2 XDS models (one if .45 and one in 9mm) After 40 years of carrying a revolver, the XDS models are my EDC. The XDS is the only pistol I ever took to the range the day I received it and was shooting unbelievable groups at 25 yards.

I have the XDM 3.8" .45, and the original XDs 3.3" .45. I bought the XDM first and loved it. But it was too heavy for concealed carry for me. So, when the XDs .45 came out, I jumped on it. It was my EDC for 10 years up until about a year or so ago, when I decided to make my HK VP9 SK my EDC. Now my HK is probably going to be regulated to a secondary EDC backup gun like my XDs. Only because my J-frame S&W is just so much more concealable and easier to carry than all those others. But those XD's will always be a part of my collection. Great pistols!
