Sorry couldn’t resist he was a decent person but I remember going into the Air Force and being in SAC in the mid 80’s when the B1 was resurrected.

I served under 9 presidents in my active and reserve time of service. He was a kind gentleman but in my view the least effective. Biden wins the award for the worst. Carter did so much community service after he left office. I think he made Habitat for Humanity a go. He is due respect for his lifetime of service.

I actually met him while stationed at Pease AFB NH. I was walking a post on the flight line and his limo pulled up and he got out and shaked my hand. He was a down to earth person. He never did give us a pay raise, had to wait for Ronnie to get elected

While I didn't agree with his policies, and while he was the second worse POTUS behind Buyden, I will say RIP sir, and thank you for your service in the Navy. A good and compassionate human being.

I remember how bad he was as President, but I will always be thankful for his contracted study in the early 2000's on election security. His final conclusion: Mail-in ballots are the biggest threat to a secure election. My dad also has a signed, full can of Billy Beer over his bar. Probably a tad skunky by now...
