Just A question about making deals

I visit a local pawn shop occasionally. One day I brought a Herter's Revolver in. It was what I thought was in worthless condition. Cracked grip frame, paŕtial grip panels, missing adjustable reàr sight, ... He asked what I wanted for it? I said $40.
He replied $50.
I agreed. What a deal!

I still can't purchase ammo from my LGS. He wants $40 for a box of 9mm! Just won't do it.

not when here, at the very least expensive @ $16.99, would i either.
