Spoiler Alert - SAVED at the end!
Today’s goal was to catch up rounds fired in my not fired yet SW 432 Ti .32 HR Magnum to my Ruger LCR .32 HR Magnum. Out of 303 various rounds total, the idea was 49 total out of the LCR and all the rest out of the SW…ahhhh, the best laid plans…and all that.
Started with this as a warm up. Circles 1 and 4 were Hornady Critical Defense FTX .32 Magnum, Circles 2 and 5 were Sellier & Bellot .32 SW Long Wadcutters, and Circles 3 and 6 were Federal Hydra Shok Deep .32 Magnum. This part went pretty well, mix of 2h standing and 1h strong side.
All the rest were meant to be from the SW 432 Ti. Managed to get 20 rounds of the Hydra-Shok and 6 rounds of the Sellier & Bellot into the below target before I couldn’t get the cylinder open. Man handling it a bit, I finally got it open, ejected spent casings and reclosed cylinder to make sure it was going to work…it did not…no matter what I did, I could not get it open. Didn’t have pliers or screw driver in bag either, so not much I could do. Fortunately I had the LCR, so while I couldn’t keep rate of rounds fired relatively even, I COULD continue to hone my skills. Although all the following targets read SW 432 Ti .32 Magnum, they are all the Ruger LCR .32 Magnum with the exception of the 26 rounds mentioned above.
After those 3 yd warm ups, some right hand, some left hand, some 2h, some .32 Mag and some .32 SW Long Wadcutters, set up a new target at 7 yds.
Same things at 7yds I did at 3yds. Then set up a final target to do my favorite drill…
5 rounds right shoulder, 5 rounds left shoulder, slow fire, 3 yds
10 rounds center fast fire, 5 yards
10 rounds center fast fire, 7 yards
5 rounds slow fire, 10 yards
5 strings of 2 to center, 1 to head, fast as possible, 3 yds
This was 50 rounds of Hornady FTX .32 Magnum.
Though I had to use the LCR instead of the SW, pretty happy with the results. A little spread out, but all hits, and THIS saved my range day! Figured not too shabby for 2” snubby…especially after 250 snubby rounds before the drill, a good number of them magnum rounds.
