Lead time on 1911's

Been an owner of an XD for several years, and looking to buy a 1911 in .45. Possibly a PX9109LCA or PX9105MLCA. Wondering what the lead time from the factory is. Dealers just shrug their shoulders. Any idea?

It’s not lead time from the factory.

It’s where your dealer falls on their distributors’ food chain.

Small dealers will have longer waits than the big guys online; just the way it is.

If you want to wait on SA's to show up that's fine, but there's a good supply of other 1911 brands out there.

Rock Island Armory 1911's are surprisingly nice & I've picked a couple of those up, and the other Turkish brands like SDS, Tisas & Girsan are also nice. My gunsmith was saying how nice the Girsans are. Other Phillipino 1911's like ATI are nice.

And the prices are very good considering the desireable features on them, as you see on SA's.

My SA's are almost safe queens now vs. everyday-carry guns compared to the RIAs.

I can get an RIA or Turk 1911 locally any day of the week in my area for very reasonable prices that haven't inflated the last few months.

My .02

RIAs are pretty hard to find right now. I’ve been looking for a Tac Ultra FS HC in 9mm for a while. I think I’ve got a better chance spotting Bigfoot.

A specific model may be in short-supply, but there is no shortage of RIAs on Gunbroker and they're readily available in my area.

Thanks all. Not a lot of choices in CA, even in L.A. Long lines and virtually no stock of anything. If I'm going to have to wait, I may as well order and see what happens.

You’re better off finding one that’s actually available from an online retailer or on gunbroker, if you can).
